Screw Machining

Screw machines are high volume turning machines with a multi station (turret) tool holder. Contrary to first impressions, screw machines can make more than just screws, they have the capability of turning diameters, counter boring, undercutting grooves, facing as well as threading and tapping. Our screw machine department consists of five Brown & Sharpe Screw Machines with the capacity to run up to 2” diameter bars. The difference between our screw machines and others is that we have retrofitted our screw machines with Servo-Cam CNC technology, which enables faster setups with less complications, reduced machine time cycles and servo drives to maintain closer tolerances, saving our customers valuable time and money.

Servo Cam technology enables us to reduce the minimum lot size requirements from thousands of parts to hundreds maintaining the same price rates. Our screw machine department also consists of Hardinge production lathes with the same capabilities of screw machines for even smaller lot sizes and any required secondary operations. This includes a CNC controlled Hardinge Conquest GT350 which offers super precision tolerances (+-.0001), fast setups and very short cycle times with a turning capacity up to 1”.
